What You Need
Everything required to play a full game of Evons.
Components
- A 7×7 board (the grid). Columns are labeled X, A, B, C, D, E, Y. Rows are labeled 0 through 6. The inner 5×5 area (columns A–E, rows 1–5) is the main zone. The surrounding border is the out zone. See The Grid for the full board layout.
- Two decks of 60 cards each, one per player. See Deck for construction rules.
- A way to track credits for each player — dice, tokens, a notepad, or a digital tracker. Both players start at 50.
- 2 markers per player (tokens, coins, or any small objects) for claiming cell bonuses.
- A graveyard next to the board per player — just a spot on the table for destroyed and discarded cards, placed face-up. Cards here can be targeted by Resurrection.
- A removed from game area per player — separate from the graveyard, placed farther away. Cards here are permanently out of play and cannot be retrieved by any effect.

Flat-lay photo of a full Evons game setup: 7×7 board at center, two decks on either side (face-down), credit tracking tokens near each player's side, two bonus markers per player, a graveyard pile next to each deck, and a removed-from-game pile further away. Labels point to each component.
A full Evons game setup — everything placed on the table before the first turn.
Recommended
- Card sleeves to protect cards from the table surface.
- A physical or digital credit tracker rather than counting by hand — credits change every turn.
