2v2 Mode
Team play for Evons is on our radar. Details coming once testing begins.
This format is not yet available. We are in early evaluation and plan to test it with the community before publishing formal rules.
Why 2v2?
The Evons grid is inherently territorial. Two players fighting over the same board already creates interesting tension — we believe introducing a second pair of players on the same board could push strategy into entirely new territory. Coordinating placements, managing shared cell ownership, timing abilities around a teammate's activation sequence: these interactions don't exist in 1v1 and we think they could be compelling.
We want to test this with the community before committing to any ruleset. There are open questions around board layout, turn order, credit sharing, and whether the Activation Sequence needs modification for team play.
What We're Thinking About
- Whether teams share a credit pool or each player maintains their own
- Turn order — alternating teams, or a fixed 1-2-3-4 sequence
- Whether flipping and conflict rules need adjustment when allies occupy the same board
- How scoring is tracked across a team
- Deck construction rules for team formats
Get Involved Early
If 2v2 is something you want to test or have ideas about, the best place to be is our Discord. When we move into active playtesting for this format, community members who are already engaged will get first access.
For now, master the 1v1 rulebook. 2v2 builds on every mechanic in the standard game.
