The Grid

The 7×7 battlefield. Every card placement, every arrow, every flip happens here.

Coordinates

The grid uses a column–row address system. Columns are labeled left to right: X, A, B, C, D, E, Y. Rows are labeled top to bottom: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. A cell address is always column first, then row — so A1 is column A, row 1.

Main Zone

The inner 5×5 area: columns A through E, rows 1 through 5 — cells A1 to E5. This is the core battleground. The game ends the moment all 25 cells of the main zone are occupied by any card (including covered cards). Score is then calculated. See Scoring.

Out Zone

The one-cell border surrounding the main zone:

  • Column X (cells X0–X6) — the leftmost column.
  • Column Y (cells Y0–Y6) — the rightmost column.
  • Row 0 (cells A0–E0) — the top row of the main columns.
  • Row 6 (cells A6–E6) — the bottom row of the main columns.

Cards in the out zone can only use abilities. They cannot trigger conflicts or flip opponent cards. A card already in the out zone that gets pushed one further step out is permanently removed from the game. See Out Zone for full rules.

Side Zones

Next to the board each player keeps three areas — no special zone on the board is needed, just separate spots on the table:

  • Deck: your 60-card deck, face-down. You draw from here each turn.
  • Graveyard: destroyed and discarded cards, face-up. Targetable by Resurrection. Cards always go to the deck owner's graveyard.
  • Removed from game: cards permanently out of play. Cannot be retrieved by any effect. Keep this separate and farther away to avoid confusion.
